A number of churches and a monastery are located in this area. The monastery Podlastva is not only a religious monument, but also a historical symbol of Grbalj. Many significant decisions were made in this church. This monastery was damaged in the earthquake in 1979. The interior is decorated with frescos, work of local painter. There are also many small, village churches that where damaged during the 1979 earthquake. Most of them were decorated with frescos and contained iconostasis from 17^th and 18^th century.
